We are very pleased to announce the organization of the International Conference on Sarcoidosis and Interstitial Lung Diseases (WASOG 2018), which will take place in Heraklion Crete, Greece, on June 07-09 2018 and is co-organized by the World Association for Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders & the Hellenic Thoracic Society.
This international conference is the leading scientific event of the World Association for Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders, a scientific society with a history of over 25 years.
Crete is the largest Greek island as well as the fifth largest one in the Mediterranean. Crete has a very long and rich history dating several thousand years to the past, and is nowadays characterized by its high touristic appeal owed to the island’s diverse landscape as well as its unique and colorful culture. Heraklion is the capital of Crete and one of the Mediterranean region’s most fascinating and vibrant cities. It is full of places to discover: from the Venetian fortress at the harbor gate called Koules (used as protection against invaders), to Knossos, the centre of Minoan civilisation and capital of Minoan Crete and the world famous Heraklion Archaeological Museum, which houses archaeological finds from all over Crete. Heraklion speaks to all guests of a past full of history and great events that reflect its strategic geopolitical position at the crossroads of three continents.
The scientific program of the conference will include the latest information regarding the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of interstitial lung diseases. The conference aspires to assemble pulmonary physicians, dermatologists, neurologists, infectious disease specialists, hepatologists, geneticists, and hematologists from all over the world.
We look forward to welcoming you to the vibrant city of Heraklion-Crete, in June 2018!
